ECart 4.1.1 / Authorize.net dies after when final form is submitted

Hi folks,

As above, using eCart with Authorize.Net. Recently (started in the last few weeks), about 50-65% of customers are reporting that after submitting the order from the final review page, they get an error:

Transaction Not Completed
We're sorry

Your transaction could not be completed due to an error. Please contact the Webmaster for more information.

Return to the Store.

However, the credit cards are valid (when we process them manually from A/N, they go through). Why is eCart failing here?

The first thing that you might want to do is download the latest release of this version of eCart, 4.5.2. The checkout server behavior may have some updates to it.

If you continue to get this problem you will need to check the error messages and statuses for your checkout. You should be able to do this on your failure page by going to the bindings and dragging and dropping the error message and status bindings onto the page along with any other values that you think would help you.

Hi Eric,

How do I actually upgrade eCart without losing my fairly complicated discount and shipping routines?

To be safe you should make a backup of your current WA_eCart folder from inside of your site. This will be your insurance in case anything goes wrong.

If you completely uninstall the current version of eCart you are working with you can then install the latest release for version 4, 4.5.2. Once installed it should recognize the current cart in your site including any of the calculations, charges, or discounts.

Worked

Thanks.

Upgrading to 4.5 worked.
