CSS Menu Writer

I am fairly new to web design and am having real difficulties using one of the extensions.

I am trying to use CSS Menu Writer and every time I try to do something with it, a little box appears saying ‘Web Assist Site Tools’. It says that it’s initializing but nothing happens. What is this? It has buttons to play, pause and stop but it doesn’t actually do anything and I am getting really frustrated!

I would be grateful for your feedback, and apologies if this is something really simple but as I said, my experience is very limited to date!

Try deleting your cache file or renaming your configuration folder, here is a link with the steps:

SCC Menu Writer - still can't work it out

Hi,

I have tried deleting the cache but I still can't seem to get my menu to display the drop downs that I have created.

When I try to edit the menu, I get the following error message:

Error generating menu (wa.generate.menu):
TypeError (this.orientations[orientation]has no properties

Also, in Properties, only the 'edit menu' is an option - 'edit contents' and 'edit theme' is ghosted out.

I have spent ages trying to sort this out and am sure it's something simple, but I'm new to it all and getting stressed!

Thanks

What version of CSS Menu Writer are using?

It sounds that you are updating a V1 menu using V2.

I would recommend that you rename your configuration folder, because from the error, it seems that some of the files did not get updated.

CSS Menu Writer

Hi

I have had a break recently but need to get this menu working asap and I am wasting so much time messing around with it - I thought the idea was that it saves you time?!

I am new to all of this so have no idea what you mean by 'rename the configuration folder'.

The version I am using is 2.0.3.

When I try to insert a menu, I get this little box saying 'menu writer initializing' and NOTHING happens.

Please help!

Many thanks.

Sorry about the confusion, but if you click on the link below:

And then look for the "2. Deleting the configuration folder" heading it will explain the steps you need to take to reanme your configuration folder.

If you are still having the same issue after renaming your configuration folder, i will create a support ticket for you to further assist you with this issue.

let me know if you have any other questions.

after deleting your configuration folder, make sure to remove all the extensions from the extension manager before installing Menu Writer. In addition, make sure to download the latest version from your download center.

If you are still having the issue, can you tell me what operating system you are using and what version of DW you are using, and what version of MW you are installing?

Thanks.
