From ASP VBScript to PHP ?

I made my webshop in Dreamweaver with the eCart extension. This was about 5 years ago and I choosed for ASP-VBScript and a MS Access database, because I had it on shool.
Now I'am reading that the new "eCart-5" only supports PHP and MySQL databases.
So ... would it be an advance to update from "eCart-4" to "eCart-5" ?
Do I have to change from ASP to PHP ?

If you are planning on using eCart 5, then you will need to use PHP. To transfer from ASP to PHP is not a hard process, then eCart will recreate the check out pages for you.

I think the hard part would be the Database and how you are going to recreate the database in MySql and transfer the data over.
