PayPal Receipts

The receipt that we get from PayPal (express) only lists the Product Titles, Qty - but it doesn't list other information that is needed to fulfill the order. For example, one of the products we sell are bags. Same bag in different colors and sizes - So we see the Product - but can't tell if it should orange, blue, green, small, large etc. Is there a way that we can add a sku field onto the paypal receipts or we have to change each title adding in the color or sku (yuck!) to it? Client really wants to see the sku....

Of course, this is only a problem with non-registered users....

Thanks!
D

I don't think there is a way to modify the information that is sent from Paypal, but PowerStore sends a separate email to the buyer which you could modify to include the Sku and the options.

To make this modification you will need to have Universal Email which makes it easy to make these updates, otherwise i can show you how to do it manually.

The problem is that when a user uses paypal express without registering with the site their info isn't stored with the site and they don't get the email from the site - just the pp receipt...

I have Power Store - is Universal email part of that??
I'm fine with doing it manually, probably more comfortable with that actually!

The emails in PowerStore are sent using Universal Email, but if you would like make the changes manually, then you will need to make the changes to the pp_receipt.php which is stored under WA_Universal_Email/Templates folder.

The product options are stored in the cart description ($WA_Store_Cart->DisplayInfo("Description")) and to display the sku you could use:

$WA_Store_Cart->DisplayInfo("SKU");

let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you. I will do that on the receipts that are sent from the store (pp_receipt.php).

That still doesn't resolve the issue of what to do about receipts that come directly from PayPal - because if a user doesn't register on our site and go directly to PP w/pp express they don't get pp_receipt.php sent to them from our site.

Should they be getting that - because they're not if they don't register with us. And the info does not show up in the admin section either so we are reliant on the receipt that comes directly from PayPal on those orders. We can of course change the titles so that they read "Small Orange Bag..." But would rather not. Especially because if we do it that way on the product results page we want the description to be broader to encompass all the variations...

So is the problem that we're not getting receipts that we should be getting?

The site is intlarrivals.com

Thx!

Yes, the express checkout process should also send the order receipt... in fact pp_receipt should be only used for express checkout and receipt should be used when they use a credit card on your site directly.
