PowerGallery installation and database password

PowerGallery installation and database password

I have successfully installed PowerGallery on another site. However, with my current site I am having trouble with the database password during installation. It will not accept the correct password. I have tried creating a new database and new user and password. I have tried deleting and re-uploading PowerGallery with the same results. During step 2 of the installation wizard, it will not accept my password.

What is the specific error message you are getting during this step?

When you configured your new DB user did you also create a db for this user to access? How did you configure the user permissions for this new user? Also are you specifying your newly created db during the setup of PowerGallery?

Please post back with this info so we can determine where to start with this.

more info on installation problems

I got frustrated and gave up on the other web site.

I tried again on a current web site and am having the same problem. It's even on a different hosting company. I am getting the following error, "ERROR: Could not connect to MySQL. Please verify the server, username, and password are correct." If I enter the correct entries in all fields of step 2, all fields except database are highlighted in red.

I created a database and specified it in the installation fields of step 2. The user has full privileges for the created database.
