eCart is not showing the options from the recordset

Trying to create a product page with size and color options for the cart. I do not fully understand the eCommerce tutuorial - because the options are not showing up in the browsers - only the first option in the recordset. The recordset is correct when tested.

Even if I can the recordset to display in a drop down list, I want the default value to be either blank or a generic phrase - like Select Size.

DWCS3, CF, MySQL

Please help. I would rather have better tutorials or more understandable widgets to be able to understand how to use eCart and other software, but at this point, after wasting sooo many hours on this - I will take any solution that works I can get.

In design view, click the Select List.

In the properties inspector for the select list, click on the Dynamic button.

In the Dynamic Select List window, the static section allows you to add a static option. Add a static option, set the value to be blank, and the label to "Select A Size".

below that, from the Options From recordset list, select your size recordset.

In both the value and label list, select the Size Name column.

See the enclosed screen shot for an example. Your recordset and columns may have a different name.

Usually, this sort of behavior indicates bad code on the page.

One thing I notice from your initial report is that you are using ColdFusion with MySQL. This is not a combination we do any testing on, we do not support the ColdFusion / MySQL Combination, we support MySQL with PHP only.

ColdFusion is not a good match with MySQL??

Is there a technical reason why WA doesn't test CF and MySQL? It was very prevelent pair in Lynda.com tutorials, as well as numerous books.

The reason why I think that the ecart object was gone from the SB panel was b/c after moving back in history to then re-add the cart to product page, I noticed that the code was still at top of product page and I deleted it from the product page. (although I didn't delete anything from index page code, although no ecart code there now). Have tried to add another ecart object to index but it's being created in ecart panel but not as SB - it doesn't seem to be adding to the index.cfm.
Now I have 3 objects in the eCart panel but none associated with my index page. I don't see how I can go back to the beginning and start all over again with my same site.

The eCart object will not be applied to the page until a server behavior, such as the add to cart button, that uses it is added to the page.
