error messages showing up immediately when form loads on page

error messages showing up immediately when form loads on page

I went through the wizard and I thought I did everything correctly, but when the form loads on the page, the error messages show up before the user even does anything.

contact2.php

I've opened up the wizard and have poked around again, but it's still happening. My client validations are set to trigger with onBlur.

I did not experience this when I visited your page, it looked like none of the validations were occurring.

When I looked at the source of your page I did not see any of the spry assets present in the head of the document. There should be references to the spry css and js files here. I have seen before where the error messages loaded when the page loaded when these references were not there completely.

Please post back with some more info about what you are experiencing so we can check into this further with you.

Look at it in Firefox. The error messages are right there on the screen as soon as the page loads. I'm using an included header file, but the spry assets ARE there on the page, just below this included file. Like this:

<?php include('siteheader.php'); ?>
<link href="CSSFormBuilder/FD_BasicForm_SimpleContact.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<link href="SpryAssets/SpryValidationTextField.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<script src="SpryAssets/SpryValidationTextField.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script src="CSSFormBuilder/WA_ServerValidation.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script src="CSSFormBuilder/WA_ClientValidation.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<link href="CSSFormBuilder/FD_NewFromBlank_Default.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />

Thanks for that, I can see these includes in the body of the page. They should be in the head section of the page but I don't think this alone would cause the problems.

I have tested this page in FireFox and Chrome and the only time I can see the error messages is after I submit the form. Once I do this the page will show the error messages. This is what should be expected for the server validations since they are based on session variables. If I enter one of the values that the form is looking for and submit the form it will show the other error messages but the one for the value I entered is no longer there.

If you have a different browser you can test this in you should give that a try. If you go to this page directly in a new browser session you should not see the validation error messages. If you submit the form without entering the values then you will see the error messages. If you close the browser completely and open it again then visit the page it should be reset to it's default. Please give this a test and let us know what you experience.

I am having the same issue. What was the solution?

Nevermind...found the fix:

Needed to upload my root SpryAssets folder to the remote server.

Very helpful. Everything was working great. Created a new form and had the same problem with all my forms. Spend 2 hours retouching my forms without result but hopefully found this post. Everything working great now.
