bcc

hi, i have build an ecart shopping system and tried to sent the invoices via universal mail. the mail is sent to the invoice receipent but the bcc mails are not sent. I am using version 3.0.4.

Can anybody help?

Edit: I have updted UE to 3.0.5.
Now there are only two email objects left in UI: Mail and Pear Mail using SMTP. Mail for windows e.g. is not there anymore.
Both object types doesent work and i cant send no mails anymore. I have read some threads and tried some fixes. Nothing helps.

In version 3.0.4. i was able to send mail via mail for windows (only BCC werent sent).

Can anybody help?

Mail and Mail for windows should both work the same. However, it seems that something isn't working correctly with the selections in the UI or with the resulting code. Please submit a support incident so that some one can take a closer look.

strange behaviour in 3.0.5

Hi danilo,

thanks for your reply. I have made many tests on UE 3.0.5 since my last post. In general UE 3.0.5 works for both, mail and PEAR SMTP mail (on PHP). I have tested some other email adresses and recognized that the mail server from the first email address i tested did not accept the mails sent by the SMTP Server of my IIS server. the tests with email addresses from other provider worked fine.

So i have changed the SMTP Settings to the provider not accepting my mails (bytecamp.net). Now all mails were delivered and everything works fine.

Then i added an bytecamp mail address to "TO:" in the ui and the same email address to "BCC:". All mails were delivered to all accounts. But then i deleted the one address from "TO:" (one gmail addresse was left there). And now the BCC Mail is not sent. It is very difficult to explain?!

One second thing i don't understand: if you make absolutely wrong settings in the UI "Step 1" there will never be any warnings or errors. The object always gives a true. Why?

Greetings, carsten.

Dynamic IP addresses are very common with ISPs such as DSL and cable, and Mail servers can be finicky and may not accept connections from computers that do not have static IP addresses.

Beyond that, sorry but I'm not that up with UE to know all of the ins and outs and the possible issue. Please do submit a support incident so that someone can take a closer look at your specific issue.

We decided to hide errors from emails by default because some users are using email to send a bunch of emails at once from a database. If it fails on one, we didn't want to keep it from sending to the others. In the next version we may decide to expand upon the debugging options in order to make the process easier to debug when there are issues and find out what they are.
