Recommended sources for Privacy Policy templates ?

The PowerStore 2 has a page for Privacy Policy as well as Terms of Service. It's my understanding that online stores need to have these policies described and online. What source(s) for starting templates does WebAssist recommend ?

Thank you,

Steve

If you take a look at the privacy policy of any big company, they will cover all of the necessary areas in their privacy policy. Any major ecommerce site should be a good place to start.

I think it's important, especially nowadays with all the privacy stuff going on, to know what exactly to tell customers about with regards to data collection that Cafe Commerce collects. As I understand it, what Cafe Commerce collects, all the stores therein collect. Is this correct? If I could get an official response that would be great. If not, then is it fair to assume that a simple copy and paste (sans the company name) can be done with no worries? Example:

This site is hosted by XXXXXXX. XXXXXX hosts the store pages, ordering system, and order data. XXXXXX automatically collects order information but may only use this information in the aggregate. If you accessed this store through XXXXXXXX Shopping, XXXXXXXXX also automatically collects information about your shopping experience. Please see the XXXXXXXXX Privacy Policy for more information about how XXXXXXXXX uses this information.

Privacy Statement

What we do with your information:
XXXXXXXXX. will not rent, sell, or share any of the personal information that you provide through our website, e-mail, or postal mail. We will only use your information to send updates about your order.

How we Protect your information: XXXXXXXXX. uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption when transmitting sensitive information. An icon resembling a padlock is displayed on the bottom of most browsers window during SSL transactions that involve credit cards and other forms of payment. The information you provide will be stored securely on our servers and all payment info is automatically removed from our web store 30 days after the transaction is processed.

this is not correct. the information that is collected by your Cafe Commerce store is only available to your Cafe Commerce store, not all Cafe Commerce stores.

The information that is stored, is billing and shipping information from the checkout system and the information entered on registration.

No Credit card details such as Number, expiration date or CVV that are entered during checkout are stored in the cafe commerce system, those are only passed to the gateway to process the order.
