Search Issue

Hello. New guy here trying to learn the ropes of DW and Web Assist.

i am trying to implement an online order tracking for customers. I went through the Data Assist wizard, multiple times actually, and for some reason, even though I selected the search field to = setting if I just click on the search button without imputing the email address in the submit box it brings up all the orders.

Am I doing something wrong here? Is it holding my session info? If it is holding the session info how do I reselect that feature?

By default blank searches always return all results. You can change that behavior by setting a default where clause in your DataAssist Search server behavior on the results page after running the wizard.

Can you please provide more details how I can do this :-)

1) Open up the results page in Dreamweaver.

2) Open the server behaviors window, and double click on "DataAssist Search"

3) For the field "default where" enter the value: WHERE 0 = 1

That should then show no results by default.

For some reason that is not fixing the issue. I did make some changes to the page. Maybe I need to rerun the wizard?

No, re-running the wizard probably isn't the correct option... I'll open a support incident so that we can debug it with you directly.

Still waiting to get this resolved. I guess support must have been busy today?

I think I might have the answer here, well maybe. Looking through the documentation on Data Assist I seen that it REQUIRES MySQL 5 and my host only provides MySQL 4 right now. Could this be the problem?

Well, I got my host to upgrade the MySQL 5 and that did not fix my issue. Anyone else have any ideas I might be able to try?
