CSS Menu Writer

I'm trying to edit my menu, specifically the width of each button...however they seem to have a fixed width of 120px that I can't edit. Is there a way to change that value and possible make it auto width? i can change it from the back end in the css but every time i edit my menu the css changes back...

In the CSSMenuWriter interface, select the 'Box' tab and then in 'Dimensions, Margins & Padding' select the 'Item' tab. You can set the dimensions for the menu items (Main, Level 1, Level 2 etc) here.

Leaving a level's width value blank makes the menu fit to the width of the menu items' text. You can still add a padding value for 'all'.

be aware that IE6 and 7 do not work well with menus that use auto or no width.

The interface does not have an option for setting the width of each individual menu item, to give each individual menu item a width, you would need to add inline css:
<li class="parent"><a href="#" style="width:200px;">This is a longer Item</a></li>

however the inline CSS will be overwritten if you edit the menu.
