Text search doesn't work

I'm trying to create a search form for the public using keyword search. If customer types in square I want all square products to pop up. When you type anything in my textfield then click search the page refreshes and the page show the whole database starting from 1 - 300. I guess you would call it keyword search

Make sure that you are binding the text box to the search criteria. Its possible that this didn't get saved correctly so the search criteria is being set to blank every time a search is done.
