Search using multiple checkboxes

I am trying to create a search with multiple checkboxes and I am having problems. When multiple checkboxes are selected the results page only returns the records matching the last checkbox selected.

For example - first set of checkboxes relates to the notebook category. I have four categories Gaming, Mainstream, Entertainment and Portable.

So if Gaming and Portable is selected the results will return only Portable records and not both. Here is the link notebooks-search.php and source files attached.

to pass multiple values from a checkbox, the name needs to end with "[]":
