speed is ...slow

what are some of the factors for how speedy these dropdowns get populated?
for me, over 8 seconds is happening now, with just the page getting loaded.
i am presuming the calls to the database are part of the loading process, where the recordsets are getting dynamically called, and the arrays are filling.
how can i speed this up?
the dropdowns are connected with autoincrement primary keys now, so not sure how the database optimizations would help?

when the page loads, it will need to create the Dynamic Dropdown arrays. If you are using a large database, it will take a bit of time to loop through each record. The reality is that there is not a lot that can be down to speed the process up.

perhaps this method is not the best available

perhaps the dynamic drop down is not as efficient as using HTTP REQUEST (ajax)
calls to get the records when needed, as opposed to doing everything up front.
the user will get tired of waiting, as i will developing it.
suggestions?

Yes, with large databases, perhaps an AJAX solution would be faster, we do not have an AJAX solution however.
