open_basedir restriction in effect

Just set up an upload file form on an otherwise blank php page, following the Getting Started Guide for DFP2.

(Only other change I made was to set folder permission to 777 for the uploads folder, which I tried after the following problem was observed - same results.)

Getting the following when I browse to the upload.php file:

Warning: Unknown: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/home/xxx/public_html/upload.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/usr/local/lp:/proc:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp) in Unknown on line 0

Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: Operation not permitted in Unknown on line 0

Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required '/home/xxx/public_html/upload.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in Unknown on line 0

The server is a fairly generic cpanel/Linux server.

How to fix?

Thanks

Disregard - was testing with an ip address before the domain name was associated with the site; this seems to have been the issue.
