Hi, I am new to php; and have uploaded the files to my server... however they are not displaying. When I check the source code, it comes up a blank.... however it displays on my desktop with no problems. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance

Do you have a php server set up and are you accessing it through the correct url path?

Do you have a url that I can see the pages at?

Thanks! I placed in the code and received this message:

Warning: mysql_pconnect() [function.mysql-pconnect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) in /usr/home/simon3/www/htdocs/sharifahsite/Connections/localhost.php on line 9

Fatal error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) in /usr/home/simon3/www/htdocs/sharifahsite/Connections/localhost.php on line 9

What does this mean?

Thanks again for your help!

Thank you, I have looked but do not know where to find that file? Is it on the web server space where the website will be published? I found the etc folder, but not the file specified.

I am getting a bit desperate as I do not really understand php and mysql; this is why I purchased the shopping cart site solution. Please help! as I would like to be able to have my client view what I have done in terms of layout etc and currently she is unable to.

Thanks

Just to make sure your installation is similar:

This is how I installed PG:

  1. Created a folder call powergallery
  2. Gave it full permissions
  3. Created Database through cPanel
  4. Added user with full permissions to the database
  5. Uploaded PowerGallery into the newly created powergallery folder
  6. In browser, went to domainname.com/powergallery/install
  7. Followed setup wizard

Did the installation wizard give you all green checks?
