Get "Object doesn't support this property or method" Error When Loading Page

Using:
CSS Menu Writer 2.03
DW CS3 Version 9.0 Build 3481
IE 8.0
Web Site: www.solodyne.com

I get the error:

Message: Object doesn't support this property or method
Line: 77
Char: 41
Code: 0
URI: aboutus.html

The error points to the attachEvent line.

when trying to load the page.

On my machine, the menus work (dropdowns). On other machines, the dropdowns are displayed, but the mouse can't hover the menu items (the dropdowns disappear)

I'm not getting that error when I test the page in IE8. Do you have another system that you can test this on to see if it may be a setting in your IE?

I hate these kind of errors... OK, I tried this web page on 8 different machines. Here's the little spreadsheet:

# OS IE Resolution Load Error Menu Disappear
1 XP SP3 IE 8 1280x1024 Yes No
2 XP SP2 IE 8 1024x600 Yes No
3 Vista SP2 IE 8 1680x1050 Yes Yes
4 XP SP3 IE 8 1024x768 No No
5 Vista SP1 IE 8 1280x1024 Yes No
6 XP SP3 IE 7 1280x800 Yes Yes
7 XP SP3 IE 7 1024x768 Yes Yes
8 XP SP3 IE 8 1280x960 Yes No

Only one machine came up clean (no load error, no disappearing menu). I thought it might depend it screen resolution, but no luck. IE or OS version didn't seem to have any effect on the problem.

Try it on a few machines. I'm sure you'll get it to come up with one of the errors.

It looks like the error does show up, but some browsers have it set up to not pop up. It looks like the error is in your image slideshow code and not with the CSS Menu Writer code.

To test this you could save the menu as a preset and apply it to a blank page and try that page to see if the error shows up.

I've stripped the web page down to just the menu (no other java code involved) and I'm still able to get the same behaviour.

You can look at board.html to see the menu only

I've created my web page and menu from scratch. Now the error and the disappearing menus do not occur. I don't knwo what the cause for the original error, but we can consider this thread closed.

Thank you for getting back to us on this. It would seem the error was just caused by something not getting copied over when the files were created. I apologize for the inconvenience that has caused. If you run into any additional issues, feel free to open a new thread.
