Date Picker not working

Thread began 12/07/2009 6:57 pm by Martin | Last modified 1/13/2012 10:35 am by afeliksas433126 | 4297 views | 6 replies |

Date Picker not working

Greetings...

I have created quite a few forms on one web page in div tabs. They are all working properly except for the date picker. I cannot get the date picker to work whatsoever...

contact.php#1_2 - requested date field

and

contact.php#1_3 - appointment date

Looking at the code, I can see that the Jquery datepicker scripts look like they are being added correctly.

I cannot see any problem with it? I would appreciate any help!

Cheers,

Martin

Thanks for the links, I was able to confirm that the date picker controls do not seem to be initializing when you put your cursor in the field. I did some more testing on this and tried to edit the html a little to see if I could get it functioning. I was not able to. As a test could you create a new blank page that has only this form on it? This would be most helpful in case there is any interference from any of the other script code that is on the page.

Second Test

Hi Eric,

Thanks for getting back to me on this... This is the first chance I have had to get back to you on this.

I tried your suggestion and took the very same form and put it on this page.

confirm.appt.php

As you can see the date picker now works. However, you have to click in the field to bring it up instead of hovering over to get it to pop-up.

What is breaking it and stopping it from working? Any ideas?

Also do you know of any time-picker?

Thanks for your help!

I think what you are experiencing is a conflict of the js code because you have this content inside of a spry tab or some other js enabled area. If it working on the other page this indicates that it is the context of where you have it that is causing the problem. You may want to try testing it with another spry control to see if you get a better result.

What you are describing about the field not showing when you hover over it is as designed, you will only get the datepicker to show when you put your cursor inside of the date field. I don't really have any good suggestions for a time picker, it is not something that I have used myself. I'm sure that there are some controls out there though that you could manually incorporate into your form.

Datepicker does not initialize

I have the same problem.

Somehow on one of my Registration Forms datepicker doesn't initialize. Everything seems OK. It does work on other form. I can see in design view, in live view it doesn't pop-up.

Do you have a solution for it?

I think the issue was caused by the order in which scripts were being executed on the page. The datepicker needs the JQuery script to be literally the last thing loaded on the page.

And if you have other references to JQuery they need to go ahead of the web assist one.

My test to see if this is the problem is I create a test page right beside the actual form page and input JUST the form on the page. If the date picker does not work on the test page, then we have another problem, but if it works on the blank test page. Then it is probably a script ordering issue.

Give it a try and see if that helps.

That halped!

Thank you Martin.

You were right, the order of the scrip was to blame.

I just cut the whole jQuery and pasted literally at the end of the scrip.

And............ it works.

Thank you once again
