About CSS Form Builder W3C validation

Hi,

I want my websites to be ok with all my customers browsers.
But it seems to have many problems with CSS form builder...

> I start with a blank php page.
When I build a form page with CSS Form Builder, No problem. I can see the generated page in my Dreamweaver CS3.

I then check the form page with another Webassist plug-in (Jeffrey Zeldman's Web Standard Advisor), there are more than 20 errors !

When I check the page with Dreamweaver CS3 Browser compatibility, there are plenty of errors for the different browsers with css file generated by CSS Form Builder :

51 for Safari 2.0
44 for Internet Explorer for Macintosh 5.2
43 for Opera 8.0, 9.0
41 for Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0
35 for Netscape 8.0
29 for Firefox 1.5

and the famous IE6 3px generated with float boxes...

Can we fix this ?

Thank you

What form did you create? What style? I just did the same thing and didn't find any errors.

Do you have a url of the page with the errors reported? I'll take a look.

Thank you for your quick answer Ray.

I rebuilt a new site with just one blank php page generated by DW CS3
(only with CSS for builder)

Here are the requested information :

Choose a form > "contact" / "Appointment contact"

Choose a design > "cool"

Select for method > "post"

This time, I just had browsers compatibility errors (same quantity as before > see attached jpg file).

Jeffrey Zeldman's Web Standard Advisor is ok. I am glad about this point. I will have a look tomorrow to see why I had so many errors before...

So the remaining problem is the lack of compatibility with the main browsers (if e.g. IE6 and 7 !)...> test your forms in the DW tab "results" (F7), tab "chech the compatibility with the browsers (my english translation of french tab names).

Thank you

Those are errors in the jquery code that is only used for the datepicker included in that design. Jquery is pretty well recognized as a compatible API and we didn't make any updates to it.

It does take advantage of some advanced css properties that may not be available in some browsers, but it should fail gracefully and not be of concern.
