I'm trying to implement a search page and it doesn't work. I have attach the search.php and results.php pages
In order to make a determination about what the problem may be we will need some more details about this search. Please explain a little about your db structure and how you would like the search to work and how that compares to the result you are now getting.
I have included the database in the attachment. It's just basic searches I'm doing and it's not working.
Due to the way that the server behavior is created for the DataAssist Search it is difficult to determine how the search is setup based on the code in the pages. If you can please explain a little about how you would like this to work, how you have setup the server behavior, and what you expect for the result. I know that it may be a very basic setup to you but each case is going to be a little different so it is very difficult to say what you may need to change or do differently to get the correct result without knowing a little more about how you have it setup and how it should behave. An example search and the desired result would be very helpful as well.
I'm just trying to do a basic search/query db on the following fields in the card table;
cardHolderFName - (first name that matches)
cardHolderLName - last name that matches
cardNo - card number that matches
cardCSRID - csrid that matches
cardIssueBank - card issued bank that matches
cardStatus (That's the only one that produce results)
cardIssueDate - date card issued 2009-12-03
cardRequested - card that matches (International or Local)
The results brings up the rows that's found. I need to get that before Sunday to go LIVE.
To start with you will need to have a recordset on your results page that selects all from this table.
Next you will apply the DataAssist Search server behavior. I would suggest that you work on this one criteria at a time and test it out in between each of them to ensure that it is still working.
For your first criteria you would select the column from the db, the type for the column should be text, then the comparison should be includes. For the type you would use keyword, then for the edit field name you would just select the form field from the search page that you will be entering this value into.
When you are done with this step you should test it out to confirm your results. When you get it working the way you would like you can move onto the next search criteria. Post back if you have any problems or questions about any of this.
