Hiding content if the value of a dynamic content is null

Hiding content if the value of a dynamic content is null

In the Adobe Developers Toolbox there was a feature to hide a certain page element if the value of a field was null. Example: Hide a link to a website if the field was empty.

Is this possible with any of the Web assist stuff?

The Search For BOSS Extension includes a new Show Region Utility that can be used for this, but it will take some minor editing.

On the Server behaviors panel, click the plus button and select Utilities -> Show Region Utility.

For the If, click the lightning bolt, and the select the column you wish to check from the recordset.

For IS, select Not Equal

For the value Type "NULL" (without Quotes)

This will create the following code:

php:
<?php

if ("".$row_recordsetName['ColumnName']  ."" != "NULL") {  // WebAssist Show If
?>
  <a href="page.php">link</a>
  <?php

// ("".$row_recordsetName['ColumnName']  ."" != "NULL")
?>

you will need to manually remove the quotes around NULL:

php:
<?php

if ("".$row_recordsetName['ColumnName']  ."" != NULL) {  // WebAssist Show If
?>
  <a href="page.php">link</a>
  <?php

// ("".$row_recordsetName['ColumnName']  ."" != NULL)
?>
