Button color

My menus are working great!
I would like to change the color of the buttons I am using. I like the style, just not the color. Where are the image files so I can tweat in Photoshop?
Any info will be greatly appreciated.

it depends on which buttons you are using.

some use a background colour, others use a set of image files.

the menu.css file will tell you what you need to know.

take a look at the tags which begin

ul#cssmw....

and look for background-color: and/or background-image:

I've changed colors on one of my menu, for the hover state only. However, the color changes don't stay after I edit the menu - they revert back to the original. How can I prevent this from happening?

When you reenter the Menu, click the Define button next to the Theme drop down list, and click the Design tab, and there you could click the hover tab and change the colors there. This will ensure that the colors are always there after you reenter the Menu.

Which option ... edit menu, edit contents, or edit theme? Which of those do I select?

You could either select edit menu then click the define button button next to the theme drop down list, or click the edit theme button directly.
