CC Number not transferring to email

I have the cart built and the credit card info is not being emailed. Actually the email received shows a CC number of xxxx xxxxx xxxx xxxx . I have a static cart with 3 products.

Also if this is a feature and i want to write the whole order into the database, at what page am i doing this ?

Thanks

Credit card numbers should never be sent via email or stored in a database. to do so is a huge security risk and could result in the clients identity being stolen.

if you have a database connection configured and are using the eCart Checkout wizard, you will be prompted to configure how the order is stored in the database.

The order will be stored on the confirm page.

appreciate your input, but its not really answering my question. I have no database, its a static cart.

If i now have to create a database and store the order afterwards , since everything else is done, on what page do i best do it. I prefer to have it emailed though.

The information should be stored in a database.

depending on how you have configured checkout, the information should probably be stored in a database on the confirm.php page.

Just be ware: In most cases, it is illegal to store credit card information in a database. You should only be storing the customers billing and shipping address and the items they purchased.

credit card numbers should also not be transited through email.

That's why gateways exist and why they charge for the service.

If you want to do it yourself, I would read up on it here:
PCI Security Standards Council

i am aware why they are there but some people like to process inhouse and NOT pay an extra fee, and with all dues respect i was not looking for a lecture about CC safety but how to resolve a problem which is gthe CC info transferred as stars in the email.

Anyone that puts their customer's credit info at risk so they can save some money is likely to get a lecture. I'm sure you wouldn't like it if someone passed your account numbers around without regard to security laws. This kind of behavior makes it harder for all online stores to earn the trust of their customers.

the secure way to get the credit card # to process the transaction in house is over the phone.

make sure that the person is entering a phone number and call them when it comes time to put the credit card number through.
