CS4 problems with CSS MenuWriter

CS4 problems with CSS MenuWriter

I am getting the following message when launching Adobe Dreamweaver CS4...

"The following JavaScript error(s) occured: Unable to open script file 'c:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS4\Configuration\Shared\WebAssist\CSSMenuWriter\Library\WA_Configuration.js' (error 3)."

It is disabling my ability to insert images using CS4 (mising icons, won't launch insert image from the dropdown...). I tried to find the file in the folder and could not find the folder "WebAssist" in the "Shared" folder. I thought I could delete the script and it might work, however, NO FOLDER in that location. Also did a search for the file and came back with over 14 different "WA_Configuration.js" files which all look the same except for the date.

How can I remove the new CSS MenuWriter update and get my CS4 back to normal... even has goofed up the color on CS4... (theme color???)

Thanks!

Russ,

This error is typically due to a problem with Dreamweaver's Cache file.

See the steps here to fix: 146/

Adobe has promised to fix this issue going forward in CS5 but until then, I have just made it habit of deleting the Dreamweaver cache file after installing any new extension.

I can almost guarantee that the extension is totally fine and will work great after you take the steps from that link.

Best regards,

Brian
