Align Menu To The Right Of DIV

Hi,

after a half day doctorate, I got it, to put my subNavigation to the right of the Webpage.

webassist.php

Juhu! First, you need to know exactly how width the whole navigation is. Then, create a DIV with that width float that right. Juhu.

But this destroys my dreamweaver working window. What am I doing wrong!

In Sculptor preview ist all fine :-)

There are some much things needed in the CSS menu. easy things are missing. Create a menu that is exactly 500px width and spread all the links to that width. I did it with all the same padding, but thats not so good cause you always have to try, error, try, error. that takes HOURS! Dear WA Team, please change that, once again, take a look at the likno.com navigation.
Also its a hard work to put some rulers between the links. I finally did it, by get thy Y-point and put it direktly to the background, here again, look at Likno.com.

now, after fix that, look at my dreamweaver window :-( We need to put CLEAR in scultor. If I do a Crear it looks good, but I dont want to handcode :-(

Need some heeeeeeelp!

Denis

Change '#outerWrapper #subNavigation' in screen.css to:

#outerWrapper #subNavigation {
margin: 0 0 17px 485px;
padding: 10px 0px 10px 0;
width: 415px;
}

That'll correct DW window problem.

Have you decided not to have a drop-down vertical menu?

Hi Neilo,

why is that working :-) How did you get the margin DOWN?

why did you change to 415 in width?

No I tried on my own, and it doesnt work :-( the header always starts direct after the subnavigation, that drives me nuts!

ist it cause I use CS3?

cheers

Hi Denis,

No need for a float there, as there is only the one div, and floating it could collapse the div without a clearing element.

Does the page preview correctly in the browser? If it does, I wouldn'y worry too much about the exact way it looks in the DreamWeaver window. Dreamweaver doesn't always render perfectly in design view.

Have been following your progress, - your design started off centred on the page; have you decided to have it aligned to the left?

I think the thing why it does not work is that shadow background in the wrapper, taht need 920px, and the rest of the div 900px.

this is too much for me.

I do it without. and, i kick css menu, and take likno.com that i bought before. I thought all from one company is great, but ccs manu is too simple.

thanks for your patience and help. i let you know if i got further :-)

OK Denis,

I'm sure we could get this sorted, if you do decide to pursue it here.

Post back if you do need help. I don't seem to have these problems when I customise your design.

Hope things work out for you.

Cheers Denis,

That's all looking good!

I think that another time, as the small menu is a fairly simple one (assuming you won't be adding sub-levels) it would be easier to do it with simple divs (5 x Style1 & 1 x Style2). Adding css to these would be very easy, - no need for individual padding, just a margin-right added to Style1. (check out the styles in the head of the page):

Example Here

Hope all goes well, am interested to see how you get on.
