Crashes Dreeamweaver CS4

Just purchased upgrade and installed v2.0.1 (over 1.0.4) on a Vista SP1 x64 machine
with Dreamweaver CS4. As soon as I try to insert a Menu I get a loading
graphic that never completes. If I close the CSS MENU WRITER window
Dreamweaver crashes requiring a End Process to close. Tried to Uninstall and
install again but does not help.

I also have a similar problem upgrading from v1.0.4 to v2.0.1 but on an XP machine. I installed the new extension and then opened DW CS4. OK so far, but when I tried to open an existing Menu with the new extension - I got an error message that DW has encounterd an error and needs to quit!

This looks like a serious problem - unless there are some special instructions for un-installing the old version and then installing the new one.

Help!

Might not be as serious as you think.

Try - showthread.php?t=621&highlight=winfilecache.dat

It may well help you both!

Thanks... but

Dave - thanks for the tip I'll give it a try and report back. One thing though, should I un-install MW before installing MW2?

Yes. Uninstall and completely remove old versions before installing the newer version.

Did this help? Tips are appreciated...

Thank You!

Deleting the cache file was the key to updating. All seems to be in order again.

Ray & Dave - thanks for your help.
