Hear hear. This is brilliant news, many thanks to WA for this. I'm doing a standing ovation here.
Kudos to the WA team for this new policy! I think it's very generous. Keep up with good work!
I'm sorry but I don't see how this is a change.
If I last purchased Sculptor v2 and then signup for the Extensions Library which contains Sculptor v3 and then after 6 months decide to cancel extensions library. I still walk away with the last purchased version of Sculptor v2 is that not correct?
The change says:
"Under the new terms customers who own our extensions and also enroll in the Extension Library will be able to keep the latest version of the extensions they own if their membership is canceled for any reason. For example – let’s say you purchased Super Suite in December 2008, but have not upgraded any extensions in the suite since that time. If you sign up for the Extension Library, you would gain immediate access to all of our current Dreamweaver extensions. If your membership is canceled for any reason, your order history would automatically be updated to contain the latest versions of any products you owned prior enrolling in the Extension Library membership program."
If this was actually a change that benefited me, I would walk away with the latest version of Sculptor v3.
Is that not correct?
Under the old policy, things would revert back to what you owned previously. The new policy combines the subscription with an upgrade plan.
I think the sticking point for you is the wording that indicates that you only get to keep the upgrades for the extensions you own. I had to read this carefully the first time as well.
So as I understand it:
If you owned Sculptor v2, subscribed and started using Sculptor v3, unsubscribed, you would walk away with Sculptor v3
If you used Sculptor v3 under the subscription plan but had not previously purchased Sculptor, and unsubscribed, you would walk away with nothing but the work you had done with Sculptor.
This is correct. You get to keep the latest version (including any full version updates) of any product you own, so you would walk away with CSS Sculptor v3, or whatever the latest version is at the time the membership is cancelled.
Well then... this is outstanding!
Thank you for the clairification!
Definately a great deal.
