Newsletter tool

I need to add a newsletter to a site and thought I'd check if I'm using the right approach. I don't see a specific newsletter tool from WA so was planning on building a registration page that only requires an e-mail address and then use Universal email to cycle through e-mails captured in the database when a newsletter is ready. A front end of course would be needed so the end user can initiate the send. I would just have them place the newsletter in the same location so Universal Mail can find it and use either the same e-mail subject line, body, etc. or again use a database to let the user indicate a new one each time.

Thanks for any input,

David

depending on the number of people who sign up to receive this new letter, you may run into some server limitations.

Your SMTP server will likely have some limitations on the number of email that can be sent at one time. If the number of addresses in the database exceeds this limit, those people will not receive the news letter.

Universal Email is not really intended to be used as a mass emailer, you would need to add logic to pause Universal Email after so many emails where sent, then resume sending.

Newsletter tool ?rework?

Hi Jason, you mentioned that one would need to add some things to make UE pause to allow for the email load limitations, what types of coding would that be? Do you have any snippets for it at this time?

I was trying to create a client site that would also have that type of feature built-in, similar to a smaller version of Constant Contact. Where I could s=create the templates, they could simply log in, type their email content blocks, maybe add a picture of two, then save and send to their subscriber DB table.

I can do everything except figure out how to allow them to enter their own content ... any clues for me?

Thanks 0 BTW - I LOve my WA apps - best investment I have mad in years!

No, this is not supported by Universal Email.
