where does final redirect code go

which page is the last page to redirect from? Is it the "checkout_success.php" or "pp_checkout_success.php"? I have 4 different groups of customers and therefore after final payment I need to send them to different pages depending on who they are and I don't know where to put the final code.
thanks

Using Paypal Direct payments, the confirm.php page redirects to the checkout_success.php page which is the last page in the process.

using Paypal Express Checkout, the pp_confirm.php page redirects to the pp_checkout_success.php page which is the past page in the process.

Order Status in Orders Table

In the orders table there is the Order status field. How do I have this update dependant on the status of the order.

I may be getting the use of this field wrong but in my way of thinking the orders get saved to the database upon checkout, the user then goes off to Paypal and Pays.

I want to save the staus of the payment in the database OrderStaus =1 for Payment Received or OrderStatus2=PaymentFailed.

How would I get this info into the database based on the status of the order?

Otherwise I don't see the point of even updating a record into the orders table if it doesn't complete.

Thanks

The order status column is only needed when you are using Paypal Payments Standard as the payment Gateway.

With Paypal payments standard, you have to set up your accounted post the results to a IPN (Instant payment Notification) Page. The IPN will include all of the information about the order, including the order status, you can use this information to update the database.
