Website Payments Standard

I saw the question for Authorize.net, but what if I want to process payments with Paypal- Website Payments Standard. How would I change it to this option?

Thanks for your help.

This is not easy to convert to paypal payments standard.

It would involve:
1) Updating the hidden form element names on the confirm page
2) Updating the form action on the confirm page
3) Creating an IPN page that repopulates the cart
4) Deleting the paypal functionality from the confirm page
5) Copy and paste the email and database functionality to the IPN page

This is not directly supported currently, so it should really only be attempted if you have some experience with how payments standard and IPN work.

Thanks

You saved me a whole bunch of time trying to figure that out. Not worth the work. I will go with website payments pro.

If I have ECart, would I be able to modify the cart settings to use PayPal Payments Standard through the ECart interface?

Basic use of payments standard is not a problem. Advanced customization of email and database order contents is where the difficulty comes in. They all can be managed through the eCart interface, but the steps and testing can be complex when custom email and database integration of orders are involved.

I'm in the middle of doing this but IPN is asynchronous and recommended only for back office. I'm going to populate the cart based on session variables or maybe not at all. I'm providing order details in account history.
