Double Apostrophe Bug

Thread began 11/07/2009 5:58 am by pfhx-d3mt321724 | Last modified 11/09/2009 1:23 pm by Jimmy Wu | 1010 views | 1 replies |

Double Apostrophe Bug

I'm posting so that anyone having this problem can fix it...

Our checkouts were failing when a product name had more than one apostrophe in it. We had a database error. Our model is CF and I don't know if other models have the same problem but there is definitely a bug. Perhaps it's been fixed in more recent versions. I wouldn't know since WA stopped supporting us CF folks (definitely a sore spot).

Anyhow, only the first apostrophe was being escaped. After much angst, I finally found the problem.

In your WA_eCart_Database_cf.cfm file, the Replace function needs to have the scope "all". CF by default only replaces the first instance if the scope is not used. This is located in two places in this file.

The function should look like this: Replace(formVal,"'","''","all") instead of this: Replace(formVal,"'","''").

Hope this helps someone!
