Potential Application of Security Assist?

Hello everyone,

I need to design and build a recruitment site for illustrators. I am wondering if Security Assist (or any other products from Web Assist) can accomplish the following:

1. Allow Illustrators to register and search/view jobs available page.
2. Allow prospective employers to register and search multiple fields in illustators skills or just browse illustrators profiles.
3. Allow employers to add job adverts (not essential)

I have a sound knowledge of html and css but lack the php and database skills to do this.

Any advice would be great. Has anyone used Security assist for anything similar?

Yes this can be done using Security Assist and Data Assist.


take a look at the User Level Authentication tutorial in the solution recipe section of the SecurityAssist support page. you can adapt this from the "Users, Power Users, Administrators" example to you needs of having "illustrator and Employer" user types.

In addition to the users table, you would need to have a jobs table.

using DataAssist, you can create pages to view and edit records in the jobs table. You can also create pages for the employers to search and view the users table. You could set the users search pages to only show information for Illustrators.

With SecurityAssist, you can restrict access to the Jobs insert, and update pages to only employers to give them the ability to add jobs.
