additional required element...

Normally, all you'd need for a registration page is username and password...

In my case I have a 3rd input field with company in it... I need to make sure the username is unique, the pass is taken care of and the company field I need to make sure it exists before it submits the form...

I have set up a recordset with the company table filtered with the companyname= (form variable) - but I'm not sure what to do next? Or if I'm even in the correct area...

Can somebody offer some guidance?

Ted

User server side validation. In the Server Behaviors panel, click the plus button and select Validation Toolkit -> Server Validation. Select Numeric validation. for the server variable enter:
$totalRows_<Recordset Name>

where <Recordset Name>is the name of your recordset.

After you click the plus button to add it to the validation list, set the minimum number to -1 and the max to 0.

I tried that and it didn't work. I just keeps sending you to the failure page whether the email exists or not.

What I did...

After I made the recordset, named orgcode, I needed I did the following:

1. Open Server Behaviors
2. clicked on the plus
3. added WA Validation Toolkit
4. Validation Trigger = Any form post
5. Validation type = number
6. $totalRows_orgcode
7. click the large plus button
8. format: English
9. minimum = -1
10. maximun = 0
11. allow decimals = all
12. uncheck blank entry

should work fine...

good luck!
