"301 redirect"

Hi

Ok so I am trying to sort my site out with regards to seo and i need to do a 301 redirect, I don't have the server access to change the htt file so i need to do it in php. problem is when i add this code it kills my site and takes forever to download,

<?
Header( "HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently" );
Header( "Location: http://www.warrenphillipswebdesign.co.uk" );
?>

This is placed on the top of my index.php page, but as i say it slows right down and makes my site take forever to download.

can someone help please

Warren,

this is best achieved by using a .htaccess file assuming you are on an apache driven server.

You can find lots of resources here: search?q=301+redirect+htaccess
