Pipe character not valid? Deleats all after ...

Hi
If I insert a pipe character (or |). Everything after that character gets deleated!!

Is this a fckeditor problem or an iRite one?

If you are doing an insert or update with this info then the problem is likely an issue with the DataAssist code for the insert or update. It uses the pipe character as a separator for the values so having one in the values could cause this to happen.

One way to get around that would be to encode the value for html entities before you insert or update it. If you are using php the function looks like this:

php:
htmlentities($_POST['your irite instance'])

This is just an example, let us know if you have these updates or inserts occurring and the name of your iRite editor and I can give you some pointers on how to make this update.

Hi
Yes I'm using iRite for a backend with insert and updating with DataAssist.

Versions is iRite 1.03 DataAssist 2.06.

The name of the iRite instace is in this case "text" but it can be other in other instaces.

I have ckecked Encode "HTML entities" in iRite
Encode HTML entities: Checking this box causes the editor to encode special characters such as quotes and ampersands as HTML entities.
Does it not work?

That should do about the same thing, assuming that all of the data is being encoded properly. Do you have the source button available on your iRite instance? If so you should take a look at the source when you enter a pipe character to see if it is getting encoded. If it is then we will need to look closer into the server behavior to get an idea for what may be going on. To do this I will probably need some files and info from you so if it is needed I will open a ticket on this to exchange the files and info.

Ok, thanks.

Some letters are encoded like åäö = åäö

But most characters like [{|+ are not.
