Pre-Sale Question

Pre-Sale Question

Here's the only thing I'd really like to know about PowerCMS...it sounds good, but with the SuperSuite, are you able to build this Solution yourself, or does it have features and code not available in the SS?

Thanks! :)

Technically, yes, you could build it with SuperSuite... but not nearly as fast and the logic behind some of the features like the history and rollback capabilities of content would probably take a great deal of time to write - even with extensions. PowerCMS is really a very nice streamlined application. I have found that it is worth every penny and even better is having all the other extensions to enhance and add to it.

Cheers,

Brian

Thank you for answering this late at night. :)

I said I had one question...it's now turned into a couple more. ;)

There's a little confusion about the license for this Solution. Is it a developer license or is it a single-site license?

And since I cannot find anywhere to post this question, if I made a site with certain functions with the SS (well, actually, the subscription service) (not Solution Packs), would I then be able to sell the derivative script as a standalone product (essentially my own "Solution"), or would I only be able to use it on sites that I develop?

Slight difference, but I'd like to know where the limitations of my license are. :)

Thanks again!

In the FAQ it states:

When you purchase PowerCMS, you receive a developer's license to develop as many websites as you desire; all for one low cost.

Best for WA to comment on your second question.

Thanks. There was confusion about this with the PowerStore, so I had to ask. :)

This answer is correct that you get a developer's license with our solutions. Regarding the bundling of our run-time code (for example, include files that are generated by using eCart or PowerCMS files), our license does not allow you to repackage these and then resell them as your own products. You can sell the resulting sites that you build but not as pre-packaged products or solutions. Hope this clarifies.

That makes perfect sense. Thank you for answering! :)

After thinking about it, I don't think I'd want to sell it as a standalone product, and instead take my ideas and sell hosting WITH those product installed and configured for my clients. :)

Thanks agian!

Off to learn how these extensions work. :o
