Hangs when running

Thread began 10/24/2009 12:04 pm by cd299113 | Last modified 8/25/2010 10:22 am by Jason Byrnes | 3901 views | 6 replies |

Hangs when running

Whenever I try to run any portion of this plugin, it just seems to hang. The plugin dialog box opens and the yellow bar comes up with the message "Scanning" but the process timer stops at 1 second and the scanning message never goes away. Nothing happens at all.

Any ideas as to how I can use this.

Does it do this for you on every site or just a particular site? From what you are describing it may be a specific site error, or there could be a problem with the installation. If it is a problem with the installation you may need to clear your configuration folder then re-install the product. Here is a link to a post that has this info:

Same Problem

I have the same issue with CS3 on WinXP and Windows 7. Don't like the idea of uninstalling all my extensions when the others are working ok. Need some other solution.

You can try deleting the cache file with the instructions here:

common_installation_issues.pdf

If this does not work for you then you will need to rename the configuration folder and re-install your extensions.

I've already tried that. Didn't work. Guess I'll have to try the rename/reinstall solution : (

Problem is here too

Deleting cache did not help; resetting DW5 settings folder did not help.

If I click PAUSE and then PLAY in the Advisor palette, the Advisor finishes the job properly.
So it looks like a BUG....

(Please don't tell me now the usual support nonsense to reinstall exensions, reinstall CS5, sell my office, move to another city and stop using computers, to cure this bug. Thank you. :-)

Cheers,
Carl
