Cannot connect at Step 1 of Wizard

When I try to setup a new connection via step 1 of the wizard, and when I try to test or when I try to select a database, I get the following message - 'an unidentified error has occured'. My local host wampserver 2.0 is open. I have filled in the username and password. Can you help please?

There is most likely a problem on the Testing Server Tab of your site definition.

Most likely, the URL Prefix you entered is not quite correct.

What happens if you enter the URL Prefix from the Testing Server tab of the site definition into your web browsers address bar?

One concern:

Jason the following note is on the Setting up a testing server article:

Note from WebAssist: "Current versions of xamp use php 5.3. we are upgrading our software to be compatible with php 5.3 at this time. For now, our software has been tested using HP 5.2.10, we will be able to support 5.3 soon. - 10/05/09"

Is this still an issue?

The problem with 5.3 was that some extensions used the split() function which was deprecated.

the latest versions of our extensions should no longer use the functions that where deprecated in 5.3.

It should no longer be an issue.

Good to know. I will remove the note.

Thanks Jason
