Site within a site possible?

Site within a site possible?

Hello,

Is it possible for Site Assist Pro to create a "site" within an existing site directory?

This would be for a division of an association. Their Website (with a different look and feel) is housed within a directory of the main association site (divisionsite).

I can setup a new DW site using the subfolder as the local root and change the path for the remote root. But will Site Assist work properly? It seems that the extension assumes all its files site right off the main site root.

I would appreciate any advice/suggestions.

Thanks.

SiteAssist needs all files for the site to reside at the Ddreamweeaaver Site Root location.

the best way yo acomplish this is to create two separate local folders with 2 seperate Dreamweaver Site definitins.

For example:

Main Site;
Local Folder; C:\websites\mainSite

Sub Site:
Local Folder; C:\websites\subSite

then have them put together on upload to the remote host:
Main Site;
host directory; httpdocs\

Sub Site:
host directory; httpdocs\subSite

Yes. That is what I thought I would do.

However, won't SiteAssist paths created (for art, CSS, etc) be looking for things off the main remote root (httpdocs) and not in its subfolder? I guess the question is does SiteAssist create doc-relative paths?

It will create document relative paths if you set the Create Links relative to" option on the Local Info tab of the Site definition to "Document"
