Did you install a new version without removing the previous version?

Yes I did install the new version without uninstalling the old. Is there somewhere in your documentation that states that I should be un-installing old extensions before installing the new if so I didn’t see it?

Other information.
Windows Vista Professional.
Adobe Web premium CS4
Intel quad processor

I've seen it mentioned but I don't remember exactly where in the WA docs. The problem is with Adobe's Extension Manager.

It is in the guide that I use:

perhaps someone should put a notice something like

Well perhaps someone should put a notice something like this in the “product download section” under extensions.

“When you install a newer version of an extension, it’s a good idea to first remove the previous version from the extension manager. Installing over the previous version can sometimes corrupt the configuration folder.”

Also this is something you should know and am only speaking for myself. My problems with extensions and Dreamweaver only started around the time I started to use WebAssist Super Suit extensions.

I will re-install Dreamweaver for the fourth time in two years. This time I will only install extensions I use frequently. The balance I will only install if and when I have to use them.

Sorry,

I'm just a volunteer trying to help. I don't have access to changing WA docs but I maintain the troubleshooting guide the best I can.

This is a fairly recent problem, and WA has no control over Adobe's way of installing extensions.
