Is setting a session value different from setting a session variable?
If so, how do you set a session variable?

Maybe this previous post will help:

"We did some testing and this issue is caused by installing Cookies Toolkit 3.1.2 over eCart 4.5.0. If you download and install the latest eCart (4.5.1) which was just released, this should fix the issue.

Note: As with all extensions, make sure to uninstall the previous version before installing any updates. "

that fixed the error.
question- i am trying to set a session variable to insert into a user record to use to validate the user. I want the session variable to be a random string; what do i put in the value field of the set session value wizard?

Do you have SsecurityAssist?

If so, go to the bindings panel, click the plus button and select SecurityAssist - > Random Password.

Then in the set session value, click the plus button next to value and select the SecurityAssist random Password binding.
