Dreamweaver crashes when generating site

Dreamweaver crashes when generating site

Using DW CS4 on Mac OS 10.6.1, using Site Assist Pro 1.0.7. Have tried with both existing site and completely new site to generate a new site and everything goes fine until the last step. After about 2-3 pages are generated, DW crashes. Have been able to duplicate crash 6 times and have copies of several of the crash logs. I have all WebAssist plus many others installed (ALL are latest versions). All other extensions have been operating as expected. Thank you in advance for your help.

I would start with the easiest step 1.:
Solving problems with Dreamweaver
146/

I don't do Mac so that's about as far as I can go. There are others that can help if this doesn't work.

BTW did you make sure you un-installed the old versions before installing the new extension? If not you probably need to do step 2.

Old versions

Yes, I ALWAYS uninstall old versions of extensions. I learned that lesson a number of years ago. I did check your link, and I've had to do that fix several times already (like with EVERY WebAssist update). I also have a PPC based Mac that I am going to test and see if it happens there too. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for your suggestion.
PS- got it to work on the PPC (although it had the same wacs wizard js error that involved yet MORE trouble-shooting). It seems from the number of posts regarding v1.0.7 there is something going on.

Glad you're making some progress.

Just a tip, when you edit instead of reply it doesn't show up as an unread post. I stumbled into this by accident.

In regards to the original crashing issue you were experiencing please try your test again but ensure that you do not have any panels expanded, you should minimize all of your open panels and let us know if the issue persists.

Panel Groups

Eric,
Regarding your message of "minimizing windows" I assumed that you meant the DW panel groups. I did indeed close them all, and the problem was not reproducible ( 1 trial only). I have never had to close all the workspace panels before on either the Mac PPC or Intel machine, and I have used Site Assist Pro (and the pre-Pro version) many times before, only experiencing this crash using 1.0.7 on the Mac Intel. Is this something new or was I just lucky before?

Hy eileenie,

I had the same trouble after first installation of 1.07 on the Intell Mac.
After I had deleted ALL extensions from the extensionmanager and re-installed ALL extensions the problem was solved. Do'nt ask why!??
Its a lot of work, i agree but it helped me.
Wish you luck!

Thanks for your suggestion

Hi Peter,
Thank you for your comment. I was able to do a work around by running SA on my G5 to get the template page I wanted so am set for the time being. I have so many extensions that an uninstall and reinstall is an idea that I'll leave as a last resort if I need to use it again before an update comes along....
