Retrieve ID from new insert record

I have tried searchin some forums but cant find my answer.

After I insert a new record I want to retrieve the new record ID number and to insert it into a session variable.

Is this the right forum to get an answer to my issue? Can I get some help please.

The key column that you specified, which is probably the ID that you are looking for in your case, should be put into a session variable already. On the insert page, if you go to the bindings panel, you can also get other variables that you need as well as check to make sure the ID is being set into a session variable.
