How to use thumbnails instead of a form?

I would run a search on mysql using thumbnails of the categories. I produced pages search results and detail. I saw that the searh page passes 3 parameters to the results page, the first is the search key and ok, but the other two are Search.x and Search.y I do not know what values should hold and why.

When an image form element is used to submit a form, it does not pass a value, it will pass the x and y coordinates of where the mouse clicked on the image.

Search.x and Search.y just need to be set to a number:
Search.x=2&Search.y=3

will be fine

Well, I need to pass the search key on the database, like 'cpu' where 'cpu' is the value of the column being searched. I do not use a form, but thumbnails. After the click on the cpu image I prepare this string:

dhpc_prodotti_Results.php?cpu

with this istructions

<a href="../dhpc_prodotti_Results.php?<?php echo $_GET['S_dhpc_tipo']; ?>=sm"><img src="../images/simboli/mb.jpg" alt="Mother Board" class="interactiveThumbnails_img" title="Mother Board" /></a>

But dont functions when dhpc_prodotti_Results.php is displayed (but function test with dreamweaver

In this case I can not use DataAssist?

you need to include the Search.x and Search.y parameters in the link:
<a href="../dhpc_prodotti_Results.php?S_dhpc_tipo=sm&Search.x=2&Search.y=3"><img src="../images/simboli/mb.jpg" alt="Mother Board" class="interactiveThumbnails_img" title="Mother Board" /></a>

if you look at my example the values I use are 2 and 3. The actual values do not matter.

the Search.x and Search.y are the pixel x and y coordinates of where the mouse clicks the image button.

you can use any value for the Search.x and Search.y, the code is just checking that there is a value:

Search.x != ""

it is not checking for a particular value.
