Multiple Merchants

Multiple Merchants

I'd like to add a express PayPal option to an existing AuthNet eCart implementation but don't quite know how 2 merchant WA_eCarts might work together on the site. If I create a separate cart for PayPal then how would the both WA_eCarts know what's customer has purchased at checkout should the customer decide to use the PayPal option? It seems like I would have to create 2 separate stores for each option which is of course ridiculous for a site with hundreds of products.

No... you actually have the option in the checkout wizard to add paypal express checkout when using authorize.net.

You can always run the checkout wizard twice with the same shopping cart, doubling up anything but the checkout process would never make sense.

You helped me with a custom implementation that included one time and recurring billing for AuthNet. I don't seem to be able to get the Wizard to work with the existing eCart.

I guess I was using the wrong page when starting the wizard. I started it from the shopping cart page and it seems to be working. It appears to want to create all of the pages again and I am concerned that the wizard may overwrite the customized pages. It's now on the Paypal Option page asking for a Signature/Vendor - not sure what that is.

You should specify new page names on the last page of the wizard so that it won't touch your existing pages.

Still confused as to what the Vendor/Signature is. With PayPal express is this just the company name associated with the account?

You will have to have a business account and then you should be able to get the API username, password, and signature from the paypal web site.

When the wizard is finished should there be 2 eCarts on the page or just 1?

<?php
//WA eCart Include
require_once("WA_eCart/WA_IHSCart_PHP.php");
?><?php
//WA eCart Include
require_once("WA_eCart/PayPal_PHP.php");
?>

You should only have one cart in your site... certainly only one on your page.

You would only need two carts if you had a registry cart or wish list cart.
