Search button NOT viewable and/or selectable on mobile devices

I created a search page using DataAssist. When testing on the computer, everything worked perfectly. I tested the search page on a cell phone and the SEARCH image button did not display, which did not allow me to perform a search via a cell phone. Big problem. How do I correct this? I tried changing the type="image" to a type="submit" because the submit buttons are all displaying on a cell phone, but doing so caused the search not to work on a computer and it still did not display on the cell phone. Help.

Is the button within a <form>? Do you have a url where I can view the page? It has something to do with the html and not the search functionality... I can tell you that much.

There is nothing special about the form button used by dataAssist, so it is a general problem with display caused by your html or css and has nothing to do with DataAssist.

Did this help? Tips are appreciated...

Jason ByrnesWebAssist

pages generated by DataAssist are not optimized for mobile browsers, so will not work on all cell phones.

What type of cell phone are you testing on?

What is the WebBrowser on this phone?

can you post a link so we can take a look to see if we can see the cause of the problem.

changed code to allow search button to be displayed and selectable

I changed the code for the search button to the following:

<div class="WAATKButtonRow">
<input type="image" hspace="0" vspace="0" border="0" name="Search" id="Search" value="Search" alt="Search" src="WA_DataAssist/images/Nautica/Refined_search.gif" /></div>

Now the search button is displayed and selectable on mobile devices. It now works on my cheap, very small Samsung, which means it will work on any other phone (which is very important to me). It also tests out ok on a Blackberry.
