Problems Using Menu Writer

Problems Using Menu Writer

Hi,

I've just installed Menu writer and site import for the first time. Both programs have activated OK and the wizards load fine. However, when I try to create a Nav bar or Import a site I get a pop up box in Dreamweaver named "site tools" and nothing happens. The progress bar and run time do nothing.

If I close the page and re-open to try again non of the wizards will load, I have to close Dreamweaver before this is possible.

I'm using Windows Vista & Dreamweaver CS3.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Andy

This sounds like a known compatibility issue with early releases of CS3, if the build is 3453 then this is likely a result of that. Please check your build number under Help > About and click on the scrolling text. The tools should work in build 3481 or greater. Please post back with what you discover.

Checked the build no

Hi Eric,

Thanks for your reply, I can confirm the build is 3481

I've also installed CS4 today hoping that an upgraded version of Dreamweaver may fix things. So far I've been unable to test this as my extensions will not activate. I get a message saying...

"Unable to connect to server - Your firewall or anti-virus software is blocking the online activation . Disable all firewall and antii-virus sofrtware aand try again. If you continue to have problem submit a techinal support request"

Strange as I've been able to activate extensions in CS3, with the exception of menu writer and site import all other extensions appear to be functioning correctly.

Regards

Andy

I have just opened a ticket for you to resolve this activation problem for CS4. Once we have got that resolved we can look into the original issue further. Please update the ticket by logging in and visiting your support history.
