Server Validation Error Messages: Javascript failures

Server Validation Error Messages: Javascript failures

I have just upgraded my version of Validation Toolkit to the latest version, using DW8 and whenever I attempt to use the Server Behaviours Validation, I receive a number of error messages as the dialog loads:

"While executing findDynamicSources in WA_NotifyCO_0_Gen.htm, a JavaScript error occurred."

"While executing applyServerBehaviour in WAFV_ServerValidations.htm, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
At line 149 of file “C:/…WebAssist\FormValidations\Library\WAHelp_Library.js”: Exception thrown in native function."

When trying to use Server Behaviours, it is not possible to obtain any Server Variables and the whole thing becomes unusable.

Still receiving error

Thanks for your response. I have tried this and I am now only receiving the error messages after going through the validation routine and while the code is being inserted into the page. Unfortunately, the server behaviour is still failing as a result.

Do you know of any other options?

Thanks

I don't have DW8, but this is what I do when I get strange problems:
1. Exit DW
2. Delete cache
3. See if that clears errors
If not:
1. Exit DW
2. Start Extension Manager
3. Make sure I have the latest version
4. Uninstall extension (even if it's the same version)
5. Install latest version of extension (answer yes to overwrite all)
6. Delete cache

Sometimes extension manager screws something up the first time.

If the errors get worse or random, it's time to move to step two - delete configuration folder and reinstall extensions. If you have a large number of extensions you might want to wait to see if someone else has solved this error before.

Problems persist

Office-Guy,

Many thanks for your continued patience. I have completely uninstalled and re-installed Validation Toolkit, as you suggested and the program worked the first time right up to putting the code onto the page. Then in threw up an error message and didn't do anything. I've attached the message.

I'd be grateful if anyone from WebAssist would be able to assist with this problem as it doesn't appear to be caused by any other issues: I have disabled all other extensions in DW, including all other WA extensions and still get the problem.

I'm running DW8 on XP SP3 with Validation Toolkit 2.3.5 as part of the Super Suite.

Just remember that disabling all the extensions will not fix corruption in your configuration folder.

Monday is a holiday in the US so WA support should be back on Tuesday.

Just realized that the system requirements listed are Dreamweaver CS4, Dreamweaver CS3. I seem to remember that WA's policy is to support the current version of DW, and one version back. Are you sure that that version of Validation Toolkit that you installed is designed for DW8?

Validation Toolkit should still work on DW8. Form Builder will not. If there is a bug in DW8 we would fix it for Validation Toolkit.

I'd try deleting the winfilecache and maybe reinstalling the extension, but if that doesnt' work, post back here and I'll open a support incident so that we can investigate this with you further.
