Create an Ecart

I am a newbie usinng the Ecart extension and would appreciate some hwlp in getting me started with the Ecart extension.

When I try to insert an Ecart to my html page, the Add button on the Create New or Edit existing cart window cannot be clicked even though it is not greyed.

Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong.

Thank you.

You cannot add an eCart Object to a html page, it must be a php, asp, or cf page as eCart will not work without a server language to power it.

Ecart creation

Dave,

Thank you for the info, however when I create a PHP page within dreamweaver and save it, I still cannot create the Ecart object.

It seems that the Ecart creation object is frozen, would you have any further suggestion please.

Thank you.

Are you using Dreamweaver CS3? If so you could be experiencing a compatibility issue, eCart will not work with the prerelease version of DW CS3. You can check the build number by going to help > About and clicking on the scrolling text.

If you have build 3453 then this is the issue, if you have built 3481 it should work for you.

CS3 Build

Eric,

you have hit the nail right on the head.

Is there a way around the fact that I have dreamweaver build 3453 in respect of the Ecart product ?

Many thanks in anticipation.

There is no workaround for this issue that I know of. This build of Dreamweaver was a pre release build and is not supported by Adobe, it was only meant for beta testing. I would speak to your software vendor about obtaining a more up to date version. You can always get the trial version for the latest DW directly from the Adobe site, it should be in the downloads section.
