Error Flashing when loading from SWF

Thread began 10/07/2009 1:52 pm by jz288666 | Last modified 10/07/2009 6:36 pm by Eric Mittman | 1373 views | 1 replies |

Error Flashing when loading from SWF

I used one of your Sucasa templates to create this website for my wife:

When the "click to enter" is clicked on the SWF, there is a brief page that appears the first time using IE8. Unless IE8 is restarted, the subsequent visits flashes quicker. This does not happen on Firefox V3 on my computer. I have checked compatibility on the main.htm and corrected a couple minor errors and deleted the offending lines of code. But the problem persists on her computer using IE8 on Vista Ultimate on an HP Touchsmart computer, and on my computer using IE8 on XP PRO service Pack 2.

Any ideas??

When I check this in IE 8 in Vista 32bit I can see what looks like another page partially loading, then you are almost immediately sent to the other page. I think it may have to do with the way you are redirecting the user. Is there some intermediate page that the user goes to first when they enter the site? What happens if you go to the other page directly?

Based on how quickly it happens it may be due to some image loading. There are ways you can preload the images to force the page to download the images before attempting to load. There are some good references online for preloading the images if you are interested in trying this approach.
